Kevin Anderson

Photography of people is endlessly fascinating because it captures the depth of human emotions in a single, timeless frame. A photograph of someone laughing, crying, or lost in thought can transcend language, telling a story that resonates univerally no matter what language you speak.

This collection is a quiet study of a loud truth: we need each other! we need human connection!

In every frame, there’s a face, a gesture, a moment of connection—sometimes direct, sometimes distant, but always human.

'We the People' is not a manifesto, but a documentation of something instinctive: the pull we have toward one another.

Shot on film and guided by intuition & observation, these images capture strangers, friends, family & everything in between - it catches the mid-laughs, mid-thoughts & the 'candids'.

Whether it’s two friends leaning into a conversation or somebody reading a book whilst sipping on a coffee - each photo is a reminder that we are never really alone. I mean let's be honest - in silence, we seek reflection and in crowds, we search for meaning - we are always bloody searching!

Anyway, back to the point - this collection represents people, it represents the story that a human being can tell without even opening their mouth. Don't get me wrong, nature is beautiful to photograph, but there is equally as much joy to be found by capturing photos of humans.

This is why they say that photos speak a thousand words or at least that's how I interpret it anyway!

All photos captured in this project were shot on a Canon EOS camera with Kodak Portra 160 & 400 film.
