Shot through both digital and film lenses, this zine offers a visual tour of Melbourne’s streets, layered with history, memory and personal interpretation.
 
At its heart, Interest is a release — an attempt to liberate photographs and ideas that once lived as lonely JPEGs and Word files on a desktop. It's a piece made not with publishing experience but with persistence, admiration and a deep love for the written word & the act of documenting.
 
Structured around four mini chapters, Kevin explores brief themes of immigration, the COVID-19 pandemic through an impartial Victorian lens, the craft of photography, writing and vivid personal flashbacks to his upbringing and family.
 
These pages carry the weight of reflection and the lightness of simply giving it a go — let's say it is basically a nod to every amateur who dares to start.
 
What makes Interest especially magnetic is its raw honesty: created with software Kevin had never used before, he pushed through challenges he wasn’t sure could be solved and finished with the satisfaction of simply making something he’s proud of.
 
Interest is a true testament to the fact that it is not about polish; it's about passion.
 
This 'interesting' A5 publication is the first chapter in what the author hopes to be a long, evolving journey of self-publishing and storytelling.
